What Should You Do If Life Insurance Isn’t an Option?
Last Fall, G. Jeffrey MacDonald, who writes for the Christian Science Monitor, published a piece following up on news that ownership of life insurance in the U.S. has reached a 50-year low. If people aren't buying life insurance, how are they providing for the financial needs of their survivors?
MacDonald contacted me to ask me about alternative ways of providing for the financial risks associated with the death of a family member. The piece was published in November, but for some reason the Monitor ran it only in their print version, not online. But today a friend of mine (thanks, Doug!) spotted the article reprinted in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, so now you can read my thoughts (and others) on alternatives to life insurance (and things to consider even if you don’t need life insurance) in “More Americans forsaking life insurance coverage.”
